US officials to probe whip-like cords used against migrants

There is growing outrage after an Al Jazeera news crew caught United States border agents on horseback, appearing to assault Haitian migrants in Texas. Images and video show mounted US border officers wielding the cords amid a mass migrant expulsion along the Texas-Mexico border. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) says officers involved have been reassigned to administrative duties. On Tuesday, the head of DHS said that the images "troubled" him profoundly but would not assert whether it constituted mistreatment.
