Aid agencies are launching a joint appeal saying that more than eight million people in Afghanistan are on the brink of famine. And millions of children are facing acute malnutrition, a situation worsened by the coronavirus pandemic, conflict and a season of bad drought. According to some estimates, international donors have contributed to more than two-thirds of government of spending before the Taliban seized power.
