Tunisian fans hope 2022 World Cup distracts from woes back home
The 2022 FIFA World Cup kicks off in Qatar in four months, with Tunisia as one of two North African teams to qualify. Football fans there hope the tournament will give them a respite from years of political and economic crisis. Qatar 2022 will be Tunisia’s sixth appearance at a World Cup, but they have yet to make it out of the group stage, having won just two games at the tournament. Fans in Tunis hope the country's large expat community in Doha will give the Eagles of Carthage an advantage this time around.
