Sudan: More than 200,000 children are starving in Darfur

More than 200,000 children in the Darfur region of Sudan do not have enough to eat. Malnutrition is on the rise in camps for hundreds of thousands of people displaced by years of fighting. Aid organisations say around 40 percent of all children in Darfur are facing malnutrition his year. Insecurity has also affected the ability to deliver aid. Armed groups recently stole 5,000 tonnes of aid from warehouses, forcing the World Food Programme to temporarily halt operations.
