Spain’s move to criminalise prostitution ignites debate
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez's move to outlaw prostitution, which he says "enslaves women", has bitterly divided those for and against the bill. While some say it will increase sex trafficking, others say the law will just push the trade further underground, making it dangerous for the women involved. Prostitution was decriminalised in Spain in 1995 and the sex industry is worth $4.2bn.
