Opposition wins tense Venezuela vote in Chavez home region
The opposition in Venezuela is celebrating an election win in one of the biggest strongholds of the ruling socialist party. In a rerun vote, opposition challenger Sergio Garrido beat Jorge Arreaza to become governor of Barinas state. It is the birthplace of the late President Hugo Chavez and ruled by his party for the past 22 years.
