Low turnout marks Algeria presidential election as incumbent Tebboune poised for victory

Voter turnout in Algeria's Presidential election on Saturday reached 48 percent – up almost 10 percent from 2019. Two candidates are challenging Abdelmadjid Tebboune's bid for a second term, but he's heavily favoured to win.
Official results will be announced on Sunday. Al Jazeera’s Osama Bin Javaid reports from the capital, Algiers.
