Lava from La Palma volcano creates new home for marine wildlife

La Palma’s marine wildlife is adapting to its new home as the lava from the Cumbre Vieja volcano solidifies on the seabed. The lava turns into a hard substance called delta once it hits the water, forming all sorts of shapes and rock-like formations. Five weeks since it first erupted, Spanish officials say that the volcano is currently at its most active. Its cone partially collapsed on Monday, sending new lava flows towards previously unaffected areas.
