Kyiv residential tower hit by missile as fighting rages: Mayor
The mayor of Kiyv says a missile has hit an apartment building in Ukraine’s capital, as fighting between Ukrainian and invading Russian forces raged – but no deaths or injuries were immediately reported. Vitali Klitschko said emergency and rescue services had rushed to the scene after the missile slammed into the residential tower block on the southwestern outskirts of Kyiv, near Zhuliany airport, on Saturday. Ukraine forces are reportedly putting up strong resistance to invading Russian forces as they surround and bomb the capital Kyiv on Sunday. The Ukrainian army said it had destroyed a Russian military convoy trying to enter the city. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy affirmed Kyiv was still in control of the capital and surrounding cities.
