January 6 attack: US Committee looks at Trump’s actions during riot
The US House select committee has heard how former President Donald Trump sat watched the January 6 riots unfolding on TV on Capitol Hill for two-and-a-half hours before he called his supporters off. Two former White House staffers have given evidence suggesting Trump initially dismissed calls to de-escalate the situation. Trump who disputed last year's election result had incited his followers to march on the Capitol.
