Iranian president’s first news conference: Pezeshkian vows retribution for Ismail Haniyeh
Iran's new President has held his first news conference since taking office.
Speaking in Tehran, Israel's war on Gaza was among the many questions he was asked.
Masoud Pezeshkian said retaliation for the assassination of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh is still on the cards. During that news conference, Pezeshkian also responded to claims Iran has been providing hypersonic ballistic missiles to the Houthis in Yemen. Abas Aslani is a Senior Research Fellow at the Center for Middle East Strategic Studies. He says it's not a surprise Iran is distancing itself from the Houthi attack.
