Indonesian police accused of harsh crackdown on anti-mining protests



Human rights groups have criticised Indonesia’s security personnel for a police operation that led to the arrest of more than 60 people. There are accusations of excessive force that led to the arrest of dozens of residents of Wadas village in central Java. People in Wadas village were protesting against plans for a rock mine, which some say would destroy their livelihoods.
