India: Hijab ban outrages Muslim students

Schools are set to reopen on Monday in the Indian state of Karnataka after they were closed because of violent standoffs between students. Female students have been protesting against a ban on the hijab, a religious headscarf worn by some Muslim women, in class. Karnataka is governed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Bharatiya Janata Party. It is being accused of fostering discrimination.
