On April 15th, Sudan plunged into a violent crisis as a struggle for power broke out between the army and a paramilitary unit known as the Rapid Support Forces. Almost two months later, more than 1 million people have been internally displaced. After international aid organisations fled the country, locals like Osham and his team of volunteers at the Red Sea Emergency Initiative worked tirelessly to transform Port Sudan into a safe haven for people fleeing the war.
