Hezbollah-Israel conflict escalates: Land destroyed on both sides as Hezbollah extends rocket range

Signs of conflict are visible on both sides of the Lebanon-Israel border. Daily exchanges of fire between the Israeli military and Hezbollah have destroyed thousands of hectares of land along the front line. Hezbollah's rocket fire now reaches distances of five kilometres, impacting communities that haven't been evacuated. While civilian targets are avoided, children won’t return to northern Israel for the new school year. Talks in Doha for a ceasefire have been postponed, and Hezbollah threatens increased military pressure from Lebanon, Yemen, and Iraq. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the conflict with Hezbollah during his speech to the US Congress on Wednesday, calling for an anti-Iranian alliance and reiterating that Israel prefers diplomacy but will do what’s necessary to secure its northern border.
