Georgia’s proposed hydropower dam threaten its endangered sturgeons

Five critically endangered sturgeon species in Georgia are under threat because of hydropower dams upstream. Yet the government wants to build more – the $800m Namakhvani Hydropower Project which would build two dams across the Rioni River, which has been a breeding ground for the fish.
