Europe emergency migration summit: France cancels UK invitation
France says it refuses to be held hostage by the UK's domestic politics on migration. European leaders attended an emergency summit on the issue in the northern French city of Calais – but the UK was disinvited. The meeting was called after 27 people died trying to cross the Channel to reach the UK.
