Bangladesh shipping depot fire brought under control after 3 days

Investigators in Bangladesh are still searching for the cause of a massive fire at a shipping depot. At least 41 people were killed. The blaze, which began on Saturday, set off explosions that were heard several kilometres away. Mohammed Munir Hossain, an assistant director (training) of the Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defence, told Al Jazeera that initial investigations showed a leakage of hydrogen peroxide likely caused the fire. Many of the containers contained internationally recognised clothing brands, and while safety standards have improved in factories in recent years, experts say more needs to be done across the entire supply chain.
