Azerbaijan launches ‘anti-terror’ operation in Nagorno-Karabakh
Azerbaijan's defence ministry says it is launching “anti-terrorist military operation” in the breakaway region of Nagorno Karabakh, after four of its soldiers were killed in a landmine explosion. Azerbaijan says it will target Armenian positions. It says the only way for peace is a complete withdrawal of Armenian forces. The two sides have been locked in a bitter dispute for decades over Nagorno-Karabakh, most recently going to war in 2020.
