Haiti unrest: Violence forces Haitians to seek safety abroad



Violent gangs control more than 80 percent of the Haitian capital, Port-au-Prince, and fighting and kidnappings are common across the country.
Police are outnumbered and outgunned and, so far, the prime minister's request for international intervention has gone unanswered.
Many Haitians have joined those seeking safety and opportunity in the United States, even as the US anticipates a surge in immigration with the end of the restrictive Title 42 policy.
