Stay or flee: Residents in Sudan face a difficult decision

Internet connection and mobile networks are nearly completely down in Sudan. The fighting has also cut off access to electricity, food and clean water for much of the population. At least 420 people have been killed in ten days of fighting so far. The recent lull has not calmed fears that the situation could still get much worse. Days after armed fighting erupted in Sudan, Dalia Mohamed and her mother were faced with an impossible choice: flee the capital of Khartoum or stay. With their house located in the heart of a civil war, the constant sounds of bullets, rockets and shelling soon became too much to bear. Al Jazeera’s Raheela Mahomed reports.
