Clashes erupt at Belarus-Poland border as refugee crisis worsens

There have been violent scenes at the Poland-Belarus border. Polish police fired water cannon and tear gas at refugees attempting to cross into the European Union. Thousands have been camped out in freezing conditions for more than a week on the Belarusian side. Journalists and aid organisations have been kept away from the border area by Polish authorities.
