N Korea fires short-range missiles, S Korea issues air raid alert
A North Korean missile has landed near South Korean waters for the first time, prompting a rare air raid warning for residents of an eastern island and condemnation in Seoul. The missile, one of at least 10 missiles fired on Wednesday morning, was detected by South Korea’s military and the Japanese coast guard, and landed less than 60km (37 miles) off South Korea’s coast.
