Drama, disappointment in Nairobi as Ruto wins Kenyan election



There was drama and disagreement across parts of the Kenyan capital after Deputy President Ruto was declared president-elect. The announcement by the electoral commission was delayed because of scuffles inside the vote counting centre, after four of the seven commission members refused to endorse the result. Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, who came in second with close to 49% of the votes, made no statements following the results, but a member of his team hinted at 'electoral offences'.
