Iraq’s minorities affected by political crisis



Iraq has not had a functioning government in nine months, no budget has been passed this year, and the signs of neglect and absence of public spending are visible in Baghdad. Muqtada al-Sadr, an influential Shia Muslim leader, has called for a new election, but Iraq's Sunni and Kurdish minorities, too, are frustrated with the political upheaval and what many are saying is an ineffective central government.
