Afghanistan: Old landmines haunt new generation
Afghanistan has one of the highest concentrations of landmines in the world and that's not likely to change any time soon. Landmines were used by all sides in every modern war fought on Afghan soil. After decades of war, 20 years of US occupation, and now, limited support for the new Taliban government, aid groups are warning that death and injuries from landmines will remain a threat for many more generations of Afghans.
