Iraq's Nasiriya sees anti-government movement gain momentum This month’s legislative election in Iraq was one of the top demands of the 2019 anti-government protests. More than 600 people were killed during those demonstrations, and the city of Nasiriya saw the second largest number of casualties. Many people there now say they will boycott the election.
