UK unveils plan to send asylum seekers to Rwanda for processing

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced a controversial new plan to handle asylum seekers that he claims will save lives and disrupt people-smuggling. Under the deal, some of those trying to enter the UK will be sent to Rwanda for processing. Rights groups have criticised the proposed pilot scheme, which applies to migrants and refugees crossing the English Channel.
