Indonesia passes landmark bill to tackle sexual violence

Indonesia’s parliament has passed a landmark bill to tackle sexual violence. The law seeks to improve the legal framework for cases of abuse. The bill also regulates sexual crimes and violence that had not been considered criminal or had only been partially regulated, including sexual harassment. Nearly 340,000 cases of violence against women were reported last year.
