Canada: Day for Truth and Reconciliation spurs calls for action

For 165 years, Indigenous people in Canada were the victims of unspeakable crimes, subject to abuse and the systematic destruction of their culture through a church-run residential school system. And a National Day of Truth and Reconciliation has been observed for the first time to reflect on the mistakes of the past and the hard work left to be done.
