Child poverty rates in Argentina have soared to nearly 65 percent in recent years, despite increases in government assistance to those struggling to cope. It is especially evident among the urban poor who say suitable jobs for them are not being created. The South American country is struggling with a 50-percent inflation rate and financial instability, exacerbated by the coronavirus pandemic.
