Pakistan urbanisation: Growing concerns over loss of farmlands

Pakistan wants to protect farmland and slow the rapid growth of its cities. It has the highest rate of urbanisation in South Asia. But a housing shortage, a growing population, and the selling of agricultural property are driving thousands of farmers away from their ancestral lands. And now, a possible food shortage is becoming an increasing risk.
